Pearl Street Dance Collective, founded and directed by Elizabeth Wiehe, is a new dance collective in the Bay with the mission to create work inspired by the the raw authentic beauty of the human experience. Wiehe's goal is to build a community of educated dancers all of whom have received their Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in dance. Wiehe graduated Summa Cum Laude in May, 2024 from George Mason University, Honors College, with her BFA in dance and minor in Journalism. Since moving to San Francisco, Wiehe noticed many young new artists struggling to find dance jobs in the city. Pearl Street Dance Collective is working to employ new graduated dancers and pay them livable wages. On April 25th and 26th, PSDC will debut as a collective and present a new work choreographed by the founder Elizabeth Wiehe. This piece is a reflection of the process it takes for a pearl to be created and the importance of admiring those little pearls we witness that make the unexpected journey of life a little less scary.
